The summer before I started my foundation course, I wanted at least one good piece of experience in the industry. Since I have a huge interest in styling, I wanted to gain some experience in this role, I started out by applying for jobs hoping to help with the styling for the Visual Merchandising, but unfortunately nothing worked out there as i was intending to travel quite a bit during that summer so there was no hope.

Justine King

After all since the fashion industry is about putting yourself out there, making people notice you & literally having to find your own experience, I then started to message leading Irish stylists on social media asking was there a way I could maybe help with a project of theirs. I luckily heard back from lead stylist Justine King. Justine is one of the main stylists that appears on Xpose. Luckily she replied in no time asking for my assistance with a slot for Xpose. I literally couldn't believe that this was actually happening, I freaked out (a little) once she had sent me on all the details. Considering Xpose is literally one of my favorite programmes it was literally like the dream.

I liaised a lot with Justine, & arranged to meet at the Radisson Hotel which was the location.

The day of the filming was so amazing, w filmed on he rooftop with all of Dublin in the background (HOW DREAMY!!) The slot was A-Z in fashion so since that was the first week of it, we focused on A for Athleisure & B for Boho. The clothing was supplied by Primark. It was such a brilliant environment to work in, fast paced, working with professional models, getting to see all the camera work & actually getting to meet & speak to Lisa Cannon, one of the presenters.

Over all it was an absolutely amazing experience, & if anyone is looking for experience within the industry, don't be afraid to put yourself out there, if I had a penny for the amount of times I was told that, I'd be bathing in money right now!!
