Welcome back,

Our first project was based on Trend Research so we were all split into groups & given a trend.

My trend was frills.

By the end of the project we were expected to construct four moodboards, based on the history and the now, Trends in the media, How the Trend is portrayed in shops and how people wear it on the street. The first few days we began researching information for all of the boards. We also got the opportunity to go to London & to experience how tie different shops, different areas and consumers were wearing our trend!

We got to explore shops such as Liberties and areas like Chelsea. The trip allowed us to talk to sales assistants in different stores. The sales assistant in And Other Stories was the most helpful, she continued to tell us that the different sections in the shop was inspired by different countries, so the section with the frills was inspired by Paris, because of its Romance & gracefulness.

We then moved onto Camden, we thought this would be a good place because we could get the vintage side of frills. We found a super shop called Lily J that had the most amazing frills.

After Camden we moved into Chelsea, which we thought was a good idea as it's very high end & glamorous. So we really got a good insight into the other side of our trend.

From our London trip we really got more of an insight about what our trend really was. It also motivated me to be more motivated and to be more observant in everyday life.

Also getting the opportunity to go to London for a day to do research was beyond amazing.

Hope you all enjoyed the first inductory project to my course as much as I did,

Until next time
