A photoshoot I did as part of my foundation

Well I figured, It'd be a bit rude if i didn't take the step & actually introduce myself properly, because lets face it, you're reading all about my thoughts, things I like & the things I do. But you probably don't full know the real me. (I know my first ever post was basically all about this but this post is going to be much more detailed)

So, i'm 19 & turning 20 in May.

Currently i'm studying Fashion Communication & Promotion at Nottingham Trent University.

I completed my Leaving cert in June 2014, I was so young (just 17 years old) & i had absolutely no idea what I wanted to do in college/university. I filled up my CAO form with the most random course choice all spread out all over the country. Results day came & I was beyond happy considering I was never the most academic in school. However I ended up getting accepted to study Hospitality Management in CIT. The idea of this course sounded amazing, we had bar & kitchen classes but obviously me only being 17 at the time I couldn't always participate in the bar tasting activities, which was quite the bummer but they did let me slip a few here & there.

I'll never forget on the first day of the course, the course leader made a announcement to all of us telling us not to make any summer plans for Summer 2015 because we would be on work placement all summer, from there I immediately got an eureka moment & knew the course wasn't for me, I love travelling & It was going to be my first proper summer of being free. Of course I do love hotels but I don't exactly want to be the person working behind the scenes all the time. From then on I was trying to think of every sort of an excuse to get my free of that course.

Literally my front garden in Galway, it was amazing

I had always wanted to do something fashion based but there was never anything in Ireland which really stood out to me the only things which were ever really mentioned was Fashion design in the likes of NCAD, but i knew there had to be more course & there was no way that NCAD was the only one. In the back of my mind I had always heard of PLC's but they never really stood out to me, however fashion was something I always had an interest in & I just knew I wanted to pursue it. So i basically just had to trash the whole thing of being embarrassed to be doing a PLC, because who was i trying to impress. FUCK THE HATERS!!!

There's so many people out there studying courses which they don't even have an interest in, there only doing it because it sounds smart & it's in a well thought about location, but i was instantly scrapping that. My best friend from school was studying in Galway & from visiting her quite frequently I just

knew well I wanted to be in that environment. So after all my research I eventually found the Galway Technical Institute (GTI) which offered a wide range of fashion based courses, there level 6 - Fashion Buying, Styling & Visual Merchandising definitely suited me the most. In September 2015 I started the course & fell in love immediately but as i had only started it already was time to be looking for what I would be doing in September 2016. So i had to take out all my research again. After finding my course in Galway I knew that there was no other fashion related course in Ireland for me to do, so i had to take my research further afield into England. I ordered a number of prospectuses from different unis all over England. From the moment I opened the one from Nottingham Trent I knew it was the one for me, it was just filled with so many brochures ... basically I just love brochures, so they really tickled my fancy!! In February 2016 I got a conditional offer from them & my teachers in Galway helped me achieve the given grades.

Time just went so quick & before I knew it I was on my flight with my whole wardrobe packed & ready to start my newest adventure.

Here I am now, absolutely loving studying what I love with the most amazing people.

My biggest advice to this day, would be to do what you love, don't worry about what anyone else thinks or says cause at the end of the day your going to be having the best time when your hobby is your job, so follow your dreams.
