In front, or behind the camera?

Our photoshoot for task 3 was yesterday, and I got to act both in front & behind the camera, it was all quite interesting, but I definitely got my calling for behind the scenes action. I loved getting to dictate the actions and how the shoot should look, talking to the photographer & telling him what we wanted everything to look like & thank god it all went to plan, we got some really exciting images.

We wanted to test water a but and use a model, unfortunately my team all voted me & said I would work perfectly, however I didn't agree so much. But we all have to make certain sacrifices at times. Also I wanted to help out for the photoshoot as much as I could, so I opted in.

The first half of the shoot we got all of our images of the props doing they're 'thing'. I loved that part because it allowed us all to play a part, I video'd a few shots for behind the scenes & just generally watched like a proud team member.

Then it was my time to shine, I wore all black to suit the theme for our shoot. I had to throw the pods up in the air, with the photographer putting on emphasis on the pods and blurring me out, the idea of it sounded very cool, but the minute I got behind the camera, I literally froze it was so scary. I then knew straight away that being in front of the camera wasn't for me. The lights, and just having all focus on me was so horrifying, I honestly don't know how all these professional models do it, it's so crazy. However we did actually end u getting one ok-ish shot but nothing that I would absolutely rave at. The initial idea was that I would throw the pods directly up in the air, but they just went everywhere & it just would not work. Eventually we got the shot we have now to the right. The idea is to blur out the other girls hand and the black board, but realistically these pictures didn't work out the way we thought they would, so we're probably not going to use them in any stage.

It was definitely a valuable lesson for all of the team to maybe do some test shoots ourselves first. But at least now I'm one step closer to finding out what section of the fashion industry I want to work in, in the future.

Thank for reading, stay tuned for more developments on this project & the final project. We started editing our images today and its all looking really good.

Much love,
